Welcome to WTP. In my experience as a core start-up techie in the first decade of my career, and later as a product management practitioner — I have seen up-close the methods adopted by large corporates as well as start-ups to find product-market-fits. I have seen (and made) the gaping mistakes, the hits and the misses when it comes to finding that elusive product-market-fit. The charm in building Product Strategy is that it’s both art and science.
Design Thinking, Lean Start-up / MVPs, the Pirate Metrics — and more such frameworks have truly reduced the randomness in bootstrapping a start-up in the last 10 years. Models such as the Hooked model have given insights into how behavioural sciences can be integrated into Product design and Product marketing. I am fascinated by observing how a range of businesses adopt these frameworks to launch successful products
